Joululahjasukkia / Socks for X-mas

Voisipa sitä kai loput joululahjaneuleetkin vilauttaa täällä. Niitä ei ihan hirvittävän paljon edes ollut, yhdet lapaset ja kahdet sukat.

The rest of the X-mas presents. I knitted very little for this X-mas, only one pair of mittens and two pairs of socks. 

Mörkömiehen äiti sai Virta-sukat, koska tilasi joogaa varten polvisukat. Kuulemma muilla mummeleilla on siellä hienoja polvisukkia ja oli juolahtanut mieleen josko minä neuloisin. Tilaus sattui tulemaan sopivasti ennen joulua, joten päädyttiin lahjomaan polvisukilla.

Mörkömies's mum got a pair of Virta socks. She asked few months before X-mas if I would knit her knee highs for yoga (since all the other women in there have beautiful pairs of knee highs). And since the order came few months before X-mas, her present was very easily decided.

Mörkömies osti langat (toim. huom. osti isomman määrän, eli 300g käsityömessuilta, kun minä ostin vaan 200g) ja minä neuloin. Malli on kiva ja selkeä, tosin kantapäässä piti taas päästä sooloilemaan. Kannatti, sillä sukat istuvat anoppikokelaalle täydellisesti.

Mörkömies bought the yarns (he bought more yarn from the Tampere craft fair than me, 300g when I only got 200g) and I knitted. The pattern is well written and clear, but I had to do the heel differently. It was well worth it, since the socks fit her perfectly.

In real life, the photo shoot looked more or less like this. The helper dog does not approve. 

Ei se kyllä muutenkaan oikeen tykkää kameroista. Tai olla kuvattavana.

He does't really like cameras. Or have his picture taken. 

Joulunpyhinä neuloin Mörkömiehen kaverin puolitoistavuotiaalle sukat.

During the holidays, I knitted pair of socks to friend's toddler.

Ihan vähän sooloilin taas. Ohje on alunperin kirjoitettu aran-vahvuiselle langalle, ja Nalle on tunnetusti sport-vahvuista. Otin sitten mitat taaperon koosta ja silmukkamäärät toiseksi suurimmasta koosta. Lisäksi tein kantapään ainaoikealla sileän neuleen sijaan. 

And once again, I improvised some of it. The pattern was written for aran weight yarn and I had sport weight. I took the measurements from toddler size and number of sts from the second largest. And I knitted garter for the heel instead of stockinette.
